The Valley
April 8, 2001
With a little help from the man who owned this place before us,
Mother Nature is taking back her own.
All that remains of the original homestead is the foundation.
And the daffodils that were planted in the early 1900s.
In the spring they make a beautiful show.
Looking down toward the creek.
Where the bushes are just beginning to leaf out.
Their refrigerator, water source, or maybe both.
They dug down into a vein of water on the other side of the creek.
The view from their front door.
And the creek with a little more water in it than last summer.
