Chigger Hill Summer 2005
A dream finally becoming reality. On July 18, 2005 we gave a contractor
the go ahead to start building our dream home at Chigger Hill.
July 19, 2005
Deciding where to build the house.
Walking around the clump of trees the A-frame was built in.
The enterance to CH is out of the picture to the right.
The back of the A-frame is back in the shadows of the trees to the right;
and the top of the garage roof can be seen in the middle of the picture.
July 23, 2005
Trees have been cleared and excavation for the foundation has been completed.
Aug 02, 2005
The foundation has been poured and the forms removed.
Room for the drainpipe to go around the house under the front porch.
Almost no back wall, just two feet on either end for strength and stability.
Aug 6, 2005 Morning
The back wall was built, the center beam was set, and the floor joists were put
on Thursday and Friday evenings. This morning two bobcats are busy backfilling
around the foundation, putting the rock that goes under the floor in the basement
and the front porch, and doing some general grading while the subfloor goes on.
By evening most of that stack of 2X4s will have become the walls.
Aug 6, 2005 Afternoon
The exterior walls are up and it's starting to look like a house.
Inside there's a maze of 2X4s stabilizing the outside walls until
the roof trusses are put on and the interior walls are built.
